World AIDS Day

HIV RibbonWorld AIDS Day is a day dedicated by the international community to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS, to demonstrate support for those living with HIV or AIDS, and to remember those who have died.  Held annually on 1st December, AC-AF has played its part in this global commemoration since 2008 with events in both Canada and Tanzania.

World AIDS Day 2013

World AIDS Day CanadaCanada: For our third year of World AIDS Day fundraising, AC-AF went bigger and better, expanding our reach at Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Stations, with special thanks to Durex for their support. Aided by 81 volunteers manning seven stations on the Friday, and ten on the Saturday, we raised awareness among Toronto commuters and garnered $13,268 in donations. World AIDS Day TanzaniaTanzania: This World AIDS Day the children of the OVCSP and their families were invited to take part in a day of awareness and entertainment. From singing and dancing to egg races, it was a day of fun and enjoyment for the youth, but connected all to the subject at hand, and provided a glimpse into the work and impact of AC-AF for the broader community. It was also rounded off with an open discussion on World AIDS Day, HIV and AIDS. Families were appreciative of the event, which brought the community together on this important subject.
