What We Do

AC-AF has two main programmes that we operate:

Orphan and Vulnerable Children Support Programme (OVCSP)

The OVCSP is dedicated to empowering the world’s most vulnerable children who have been affected by HIV and AIDS.  Currently implemented in Tanzania, the OVCSP is a holistic and sustainable approach to the orphan crisis.

Homework Club

The Homework Club was created as a means of providing the children we work with a space where they can come after school and receive help with their homework using alternative forms of teaching.

u+me=we

u+me=we is an international HIV and AIDS education and awareness programme aimed at children and youth encouraging them to learn about HIV and AIDS, to challenge myths and misconceptions that exist, and to provide them with a voice to be heard in the wider community.

While operating these two main programmes, AC-AF also has a number of campaigns, projects and events that operate alongside the OVCSP and u+me=we.

World AIDS Day is a day set aside by the international community which is dedicated to raising awareness about HIV and AIDS.  Held annually on 1st December, AC-AF has held events in Canada and Tanzania since 2008 to recognize this international day of recognition and awareness.

Universal Children’s Day is a day dedicated to promoting children’s rights through worldwide solidarity, fellowship and mutual understanding amongst the world’s children. On the 20th of November 2012, AC-AF held its first Universal Children’s Day event with over 700 children from the Sinza and Ubungo wards in Tanzania

Make an Impact is AC-AF’s ethical card giving campaign and a fantastic way to support AC-AF’s programing.

There are also a series of past projects & campaigns that we have previously operated.

Charity Challenge

In 2012, AC-AF teamed up with Charity Challenge; an organisation that helps team up avid adventure travellers with fundraising.  If you have ever had the urge to climb a mountain, trek cross country, or just do something entirely different, Charity Challenge offers travellers the opportunity to offset their travel costs by committing to raise funds for a selected charity.  AC-AF is one of their featured organisations in Canada.
